American Falls Reservoir
#1
I live close to American Falls Reservoir and I have a boat but I have not caught anything there yet.

I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions that have worked for them on this reservoir? What do you fish with and what general areas do you fish?

The first question is what are you fishing for...
For bass I work weed lines and rock walls you can catch them by simply working a stick bait hooked wacky style or throwing a chartreuse spinner bait I like mine rigged with green punkin chompers double tail or Tixies sweet beavers in green and brown colors.
Or just white or chartreuse crank bait.
For trout if trolling I like flat fish rigged with chartreuse tube bait hooked over the back hook looks great and works great. * take off the back treble hook cut the top off of tube so that the hook is just covered slip it over and rehook the flat fish works great and adds a new look.
If I jig for them I work points or deep spots in the channels were theres slack water off to one side. I like too use white tubes 2.5 to 3.5 inch or white and chartreuse or oil colored tipped with a worm I use a anchor or my positioning motor to stay in the area get a bouy or too to throw out when you find fish so you know were there at instead of guessing this will help tons.
If your baiting it and just dropping a worm or power bait I just couldnt help you I never really fish with bait. I would work the same areas as jig fishing.

I like the idea of adding a tubebait skirt to a flatfish. I will have to try that in some places I fish.

What happened to the "secret info." you were going to give me? [:/][:/][:/][:/][:/] Sent a couple of pm's and posted a response on a thread, but no response????? [frown] Did you change your mind.? If you did, just say so!!!! That's ok, and perfectly understandable. Just don't leave me hanging, OK? Would be glad to exchange pm's with ya and share mutual experience.. Good fishing to ya. [Smile]

Thanks for the advice Warchild, I think I will try the white tube jigs next time. I should have a fish finder next time I go so I can find the channels to fish.

I have caught a few big fish in my life but I am still just a beginner when it comes to knowing what to fish with and where to fish with it, so your detailed suggestions very much appreciated.
