L.P.
#1
L.P. was tough fishing today. My wife and I began about 7 AM and didn't have a single bite until about 9. Graphed very few fish, so figured they either had left the area (narrows) or were on top. About 9 they began jumping, and there was a moderate bite. Concentrated in a small area. We caught fish on the surface, 15, 20 and 25 feet. Didn't seem to matter whether we were pulling a Jack Lloyd with w. r. or a Shasta Sling Blade with hootchie. Ended up with one limit. Had a 19" very red spawner hit mid-day! Surprised me that any were still in there. She was in very good shape and fought like crazy. The only two other boats we saw had little success. One had one koke and the other had not so much as experienced a strike. Had lots of bites. They were hitting very light. Perhaps the fact that they are dropping the reservoir 2 1/2 feet a day might have something to do with it. Mike
