This isn't exactly a fishing report but a fun story!
My nephew Neil lives in Idaho and Sunday we were at my sister's house hanging out! Neil is 2.5 years old and full of it! I decided to get him out of the house for a bit...feeling quite cooped up myself! I asked for a fishing rod and out came Neil's "Cars" rod he got for his birthday! Next: Tackle. All they had is #8 baitholder hooks...luckily i had a new pack of senkos in my truck! Well the hooks were way too small but better than nothing!
We made a quick trip up to Weston and Neil was lovin' it being at the lake with all the cows, poop, and FISH!
First I had Neil pull out a rubby worm for me and I showed him how to hook it on. Next, he decided to see how they were for taste and he about vomited...anise and salt, yuck!
It took us a while to get one of the small hooks to stick but finally one did! I had to help hold the rod while Neil reeled with all his might and strength! He landed a 15" bass and i lipped it out of the water. I turned around and he was shaking uncontrollably and speechless, just pointing!![cool] I loved it...it was completely amazing to him! He told me the fish was biting me haha! We stayed a little longer and got a couple more little guys!
The other day when we met for dinner Neil got out of the car and saw me and said "go fishing!" He's addicted!
