Got on the lake around 2:30 pm alone. Couldn't find anyone to go with, but had a great time just relaxing. The water was calm and no skiiers to be seen for ever. Headed over to the south west dike and saw thousands of schooling shad everywhere. The carp where there as well and I guess there were nearly as I could count some 50-100 everywhere you looked. I did not see 1 wiper surface at all. I anchored down for awhile and fished with a worm on one pole and a rapala on another. Not one carp would take anything I threw out at them. They would come right up to the boat as well and just swim by. It was cool to see though. Took off and started to troll along the west dike and nodda there as well/ The fishermen I talked to had no luck as well. So I trolled across the lake and headed for the feed lot and hooked into some nice sized whipers in 19 feet of water trolling pretty fast with a rattle trap out about 150 feet. I thought it was going to break my pole as hard as it hit and the speed I was trolling at. I got the the feed lot and trolled my way to the south marina and headed home. The sun was hot and the day was very relaxing for me. I'll have to go again and hit the middle of the lake again.
