Black or White Crappie?

Caught this the other day in a Cunningham Falls Resivior in Maryland. Not sure if it is black or white...

I say white crappie but it might be all the SUNLIGHT shining through it.[:p]

It's a black crappie. The white one has bars go up and down the black more or less has specs like the one in your picture.

Hmm researching more it might be a hybrid. It has characteristics of both.

White crappie has head back and 8 to 10 vertical bars and 5 to 6 spikes on dorsal fin.

Black Crappie has scattered specs and 7 to 8 spikes on dorsal fin.
your fish has the head back, no bars and 5 spikes on dorsal fin like a white crappie but it has the scattered black specs like a black crappie.

this sounds about right. i'm leaning towards hybrid because of the stripes, but i can't remember if the stripes are there only when being aggressive.
