This year was the first in many we didnt have elk in camp by noon. we hunted hard for 4 days with no elk to show for it. i saw 1 bull , over 1000 yrds uphill didnt even shoot at him. no cows at all except on tribal lands. I herd 2 bulls were shot in our spot on the youth hunt the weekend before. herd busted out and never came back. how was everyone elses hunt? did see some great bucks at 11,000 feet above timber. hope they stay put awhile longer.

A friend of a friend shot a bull on Monday that rough scored 335. A 6x6 on the any bull general hunt public land. The kid is ruined. I don't know if he really knows what he has done or how lucky he was to even get a chance at this bull on a general tag.
Another buddy seen 40+ cows on the opener and only one bull "nice 6 point" the night before the hunt started. Isn't that how it goes? It sounded like combat hunting to me, where he was.
Good job on the spiker BigBass. Was you on one of the new spike units or one of the old ones like Wasatch, Manti ect?
