Scofield Tips needed
#1
I will be fishing Scofield on Saturday from my boat. I have some general ideas on where to fish but have never taken my boat up there before. Any tips on where and perhaps how to fish would be appreciated. My favorite fishing technique, from my boat, is vertically jigging, but I am not opposed to casting, but will only troll as a last resort. Either reply to this post or if you prefer send me a PM.

Thanks,

If you like Jigging I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to pick up plenty of tigers. Tip them with chub and just look for fish stacked up, I would try the dam area and out by the island.
Good luck.

Last weekend I did well fishing the arm near the dam and also out around the island. I was surprised that water around the island is only about 12 feet deep - we ended up casting instead of vertically jigging.

I'd launch at the state park ramp near the dam and look for water depths conducive to jigging, then follow that contour.

Believe it or not, I have done very well with Tigers at Scofield with a minnow 4' or so below a bobber in the few small bays west of the Scout camp arm. We try and stay in 15' of water or less. We have also done well just 30+ feet off the rocks on the bank due north of the island. We have also done very well with a minnow off of a bobber full of water in those same areas off the bottom. Let us know how you do. I caught the tiger in my picture by my post with the suspended minnow off the top. The fish in the photo was caught off the bottom from the shore last fall.
