I fished Twin Lakes on Sat afternoon for about 2 hours. There were two fishing boats on the lake, but they didn't stay long.
The sun was shining, but the wind was blowing. So I launched my tube in the lea of the dam and fished the area behind the dam and out a ways. I was mostly out of the wind there. The water was about 52 degrees (warmer than the air) and ranged from 0 to 20 feet deep. There was a nice dropoff there where the weeds ended and deeper water began.
I caught some large bluegills and a very fat trout. Most of them were caught in the 4 to 6 ft area above the weed beds. I didn't get many bites on the dropoff which surprised me. It looked so fishy.
I didn't get a single crappie.
Anyone know where they disappeared to??
There is no fee to fish there now. Hosts and signs are both gone ---- until spring.
Sorry no pictures. I can never remember to pack a camera!!
