The cheapest dry dog food that you can find. A couple places that hold minnows:

Scofield
Electric Lake

Or cat food. Make the neighbors cat meet with an"accident", then wait a couple days and go over to see if they have any extra cat food.
No! Don't do that. But, seriously, my buddy uses cat food and puts traps in all the ditches that run into Utah Lake. Most of them hold baby sunfish, fatheads, suckers, carp and a few minnows we really arent too sure about. And an occasional crawdad and snake.

Closest place for you is the I-80 ponds.

Go west, just past Saltair to the rest area, follow the path down to the water and throw out your trap.
Do not keep Bass or Bluegills, they are illegal as bait in UT, considered a gamefish.
Also there is Settlement Canyon in Toole, Grantsville Res. and Vernon res. out that way.

If cat/dog food isn't handy, Ritz crackers have always treated me right at Electric.

They're not at the dam at Scofield, like usual. Just checked yesterday.

Huntington has plenty of suckers. Try about halfway up the lake from the dam. Cleveland also has a lot of suckers.

Sorry, I was thinking you were in Magna so I was giving you information that was close to there.

From Spanish fork I don't know, but would suspect the River and UT lake would get some for you.
