[fishin] Going to be headed to Worley from Idaho Falls around 10/29 to 11/2. Wanted to chuck some flys at the Steelhead on the way back. I don't know much about the Clearwater. I 'm looking for a area to wade and fish with either a single or double handed fly rod. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Google Clearwater River Company for a fairly up-to-date report on the upper and lower river sections. Mike

I personaly have only fished the south fork clearwater and love it! I hear the main river is tought to bank fish but I'm sure if you can read current you'll be fine. I agree with the other post, you should check clearwater outfitters for info. Also check the little red tackle shop on the river (can't remember the name...anyone?) the guy who runs the shop is more than willing to tell you what you need to know for the time you'll be there.
I would use a dropper fly, egg sucking leach, egg pattern etc...

Thanks for all the great information. I actually talked to Poppy at the Red Shed first. I look forward to seeing him in person. I've been tying alot of tube flys, and I'm looking forward to trying them out. I've got alittle bit of experience with the Salmon and bouncing weight with a casting rig, but still looking for my first steelhead on the fly. I picked up a 13' spey rod last winter, used it a couple of times in the spring below Salmon. Just looking forward to getting out on the river a improving on what skills I have for now. Thanks again for all the help. Hope I can post a picture of something when I get back!![fishin]
