Planter anyone?
#1
No. Not a planter fish. A planter boat. That's what mine has become since early yesterday morning.[mad] Jerk came into my yard and stole my 70 horse Merc. right off the transom. Cut the control cables, fuel lines, electrical lines to the attached Neptune electric trolling motor, and hauled it off. Anyone want to buy a rowboat? Planter?
The Sad thing is, that I know who did it, and can't do anything about it. He's a bail jumper with a warrant out for his arrest. Anyone in Southeast Idaho who's approached with a 70 horse, 3 cylinder Mercury motor for sale, give me a holler. I have the serial number.

Wow! That is terrible. I hope the police catch up with whoever it is. It will probably end up out of state on craigslist or something.

I would keep your eyes on craigs list all around the northwest. My good friend had 4 rods stolen out of his boat in his side yard behind a locked fence in Portland. He found a post on craigs list in seattle and as he thought they were all his rods.

A list of the crimes that I know this guy has committed include: Robbing the Ucon Post office, and burglarizing three other businesses, for which he plead guilty. The FBI dropped the federal charges after he produced the things he stole from the post office. He was then granted bail until his sentencing, which since been revoked for not meeting the conditions of bail. There's a warrant out for his arrest, but in the meantime it looks like he's maintaining his lifestyle by robbing the neighbors of his invalid mother, as well as his mother herself. He loaded up and sold her John Deere lawn tractor. Other things he's suspected of stealing within a block of her house include a $7000 equipment hauling trailer, a lawn mower, 4000 lbs of scrap metal, a large compressor as well as my outboard. I don't understand why this guy isn't looking out from behind bars. I filled out a police report last night for the cop to pick up today, but it must have been a busy day. Oh! I forgot to mention. He recently spent 7 years in prison. Maybe I should be more tolerant. My bad.[crazy]

Sorry to hear that your outboard was stolen. I hope it turns up and you get it back. It seems like the police would have an idea where he sells the stuff he has stolen. This guy needs to spend alot more time in prison.

Just a matter of time, I think. He'll mess up sooner or later. If we could just get our judges to do it right the first time, a lot of problems would go away.

Did you get enough fishin' done this year? Oh, that's right. You can't get enough fishin' done. Merry Christmas.

No Glock. Only Mossberg, Savage, Remington, Ruger, Fox, and Smith. I found out today that this guy was sent up for seven years 'cause he robbed a bank. To me, that means he's a danger as well as a menace to society.

Not nearly enough fishing this year. How about you? I saw your post about a trip to Montana for walleye. That sounds like a fun outing.

Do you want to float the SF sometime this fall? I haven't been able to fish the SF much this year and I need a streamer fix.

I'd be up for it if the weather will cooperate. What stretch do you like to float?
We went to Canyon Ferry res., east of Helena, and tried to catch walleye. I caught a couple about 14", but the bite wasn't on, and we were too green to get the bigger ones. We wound up trolling gear at about 40', with lead core lines, for trout, which were of decent size. Definitely not my bag though. I'd want to go at a more optimal time, for walleye, if I were to do it again.
Give me a holler, and we'll cook something up. I hear the BWO's are working out west of here a ways. Lew

My favorite float is the canyon, but I float Lorenzo to Menan more because it is close and it is not a full day.

Well kiddies. I just got a call from the detective who's been working this case. They caught the guy at his girl friends house, so he's off the streets. Now, if they'll just get him on the waterboard and find out what he's been doing with the stuff, maybe I can get my motor and garden tractor back. At least he's off the streets.[laugh] I can't help thinking that he has a helper that needs a warm place for the winter.[mad]
