Strawberry advice...
#1
Planning on making one last trip on Sunday before winterizing my boat. With all I have been reading, Strawberry is the place to go. I usually fish at Renegade. This time of year is it better elsewhere? Chicken creek East & West have done well at times, I have not been to the ladders and have no knowledge as to where to go there. Not planning on doing any trolling as I don't have a trolling motor. My slowest speed is about 2.1 mph. If there is a breeze I like to drift, if not vertical jigging or casting a fly and a bubble, or spinners & cranks. Any advice to make our last outing until the hard deck arrives would be great! Thanks.

My advice would be to just go looking until you find them. We just got back from there and they weren't where I have been catching them for the last two trips. We tried lots of places that didn't hold any fish until we found a fairly decent school in the last place we tried. Also, strangely I have done better in the afternoons (from noon on) the last several trips I have made up there. We did best in about 25 feet of water.

We were there as well today and got blown off the lake and headed for the narrows. We found some good quiet shade to jig in and we nailed them for about 2 hours. So you just never know I guess. Worms worked best for us though, I had chub meat but they weren't real cool with that serving.

No problemo. Just find the bay where there is a shoreline on the north and also one on the south. Find 24 1/2 feet of water and you will be right on the place.
