Tried to do some alarm business this morning and no one wanted to see me today. I guess everyone is planning tomorrow's events. After making a couple appointments for next week I decided to slip out this afternoon for a couple of hours and get a mess of crappie for supper. emoHungry

I tired three places around the wolf and Harrison with only one good keeper crappie to show for my efforts. I lost two others but even with those that would not have made a mess. After about an hour and a half wasted I decided to try to salvage the day with some spots. I headed for one of my deep winter holes that I usually catch spotted bass on to see if they were there. To my surprise they were there and they had some friends. emoBig Bass have gone deep in the Chick.

Hit a deeper drop that usually had spotted bass on it in the winter and since I was in the hunger for some fish I hoped that would do. I started slow rolling a 3/4th oz spinner bait about 15 foot deep and one spot right off nailed it. Just a little later a very nice 2.5 lb LM crushed it. I released it but do not catch them there often. Tried a deep crank and after a few casts one killed it. Line stretched and drag sang. Up comes another LM just a little over 4 lbs. emoSmile I would really be excited if I had not been trying to catch spots and make a meal. emoScratch Moving on down my drop I went back to the blade and started nailing spots and LM everywhere there was a bend in the ledge drop. I ended up catching five LM all keepers that would have gone about 14 to 14.5 lbs. I also caught seven spots with only one slick in them. emoTongue Best spot was 16.5 inches. I released all the LM and the big spot. Came home with five nice keeper spots and will be having fresh fried fish for supper tonight. emoHungry

Needed a fishing fix after sitting in the deer stand this past week. I wish everyone a great Thanksgiving! emoGrouphug Jmax
