Montpelier Res. Report

The ice fishing is excellent! Today my son and I iced 70 fish in 40 feet of water during five hours of fishing. Bag included: 11 perch (6-9'), 2 kokes, 4 cutts, and 53 bows. Fish were caught at all levels, and the vex made it easy to spot fish. If no fish were around jigging would bring them in. Small pink and chartruse shrimp jigs below a flasher tipped with crawler, mealy, or perch eye worked well. Biggest trout may have went 13' inches; only kept four deep hooked, plus kokes and perch.

Met dimtrap and talked a lot of fishing tactics; good to meet you Sir!

Hope everyone did well!

Nice to meet you also, you gave me some good spots to try out this winter.
We also had a great day on the ice, We didn't keep track of the planter bows that we caught but it was a lot of them, iced 1 small koke and several nice perch in the 10 to 12 inch range. Most of them in 46 feet of water.
Again it was nice to meet a fellow BFT poster on the ice, and swap a little fishing knowledge.
