FIshed hells canyon of friday and saturday

showed up friday afternoon and holly crow there were from where we were standign on the top of the dam there weere maybe 20 boats and easaly 100 people on the oragon side and 10 in the deep creek hole. rain mist mix a bit miserable but all five of us fished till DARK! and went to bed. Saturday dawned clear and cold. picked up two small trout right off and then a bass. then the hwole things died . a bout the same number of people fishing both banks. heard alot of o man you should have been here 3 weeks ago. grrrrrr work we fished hard all day sat and picked up one steal head, 3 trout and 2 bass. watched a total of 10 fish for at least twelve hours of fishing. found out two days before they pulled 1600 fish out to take to bosie and the hatcherys. grrrr stupid fish trap.

I had pretty much the same luck on wednesday. We were in town so we drove down to the Grand Ronde. Between two of us in about 6 hours of fishing we only hooked one. but I guess a few weeks ago it was good there too from what we heard. We did manage to get VERY close to some big rams (I'll post pics when i get them) so that kind of saved the trip for me.

Thanks for this report! Just thinking about going this week. I'll hold off. The Statesman's "4 fish" report last Thursday is what sends the crowds up and that information isn't always accurate or current. Probably based on 3 weeks ago. We were there last month and it was really good...
