Springfield Res
#1
[fishin]We fished Springfield Res West of Backfoot yesterday. It was a great day and we had a blast just being out on open water in our toones. My would be son-in-law landed a nice fish about 21 inches or so. Wish I could say the same for myself. Thier where several people wading the far west finger of the Res and doing very well from what I saw. We were stripping leach patterns I don't know what the wadders were up to but I wish I knew. Would like to go back armed with alittle more info. All in all it was a great day to be outdoors!

Ya I fished some Chironomids in the traditional method of bouncing them off the bottom or just a few inches from the bottom but the guys wading all seemed to be stripping something or the other. Most of the time that I've fished streamers and such on the Southfork it's not the rainbows that slam but most of the fish in Springfield are bows and they really rocked the stripping action.

I thought they were Kamloops. I have heard Sneaky Petes work and Haresears.
I have done killer there with Renagades or Prince nymphs also.
