Chesterfield Ice
#1
Has anyone heard any reports of the ice on Chesterfield. I heard that the fishing was good in the open water last week, but wasn't iced over.

Sounds like its iced over but just barely. Let me know when you are headed down there my Dad and I usualy hit Chesterfield at least once in December, we need to meet up with you on the ice sometime.

I was hoping for one more trip on the pontoon, but it looks like it's going to be next spring. This year went by too fast.

I totally agree with you. I can't believe it's winter again already. I just haven't been able to get into ice fishing, so next spring is seeming a long way off.

Fishing it a couple more times next year. Got up there once this year and had a good time. Bugs were minimal, and the camp site was great.
Plus it is a great Chironomid Lake.[Wink]

I've been wanting to try the chironie technique for some time now. We've gotta get together next year and torque some heads. What patterns would you suggest that I work on this winter?

I don't have much luck with the chironamids in the winter, but more the scuds in the same fashion. I have got lucky with blue on black chirony's before though.
looks like rivers for the next 4 to 6 months[:/]
I do love stillwater! could be the boat though...LOL
