Before I say a word I am in no way a competent fisherman when it comes to Mud Lake; I am practically a rookie, so take the negative report with a grain of salt.
My son and I went out and fished the North side in three feet of water. The wind was the some of the worst I fished in, and we nearly lost the cube twice setting it up. Now we did get perch to our jigs, and we had a few bites, but to let everyone know that most of us have Rapalas larger than the perch that were looking at our jigs. If you have some tear drop jigs with a small mealy head maybe then you could hook one.
Now I hope I am wrong, and Mud Lake will be at its former glory this year. By the way there was nearly seven inches of very solid ice. It seems the ice is thick everywhere.
