Rock Cliff ice
#1
Just thought some of the rest of you might want to know. I went to Rock Cliff (northern bay of the Jordenelle) today to check out the ice situation. The bay looks to be a little lower than in years past. I walked out, from the end of the boat launch, about half way across the bay the ice by the edge is about 3" but half way across the ice is only MAYBE 1". I deemed it unsafe until after the 18th.

Thank you for the post. Hope you had some safety precautions. That is pretty thin still.

Yes anything under 3 to 4 inches is pretty thin for me anymore. I didn't even fish when I discovered it was about 1 inch I slowly backed up and walked off in the same tracks I came in on.
However last weekend the gates were still open up the mirror lake highway and I fished on Pass lake and did really good but now the gates are closed. I would have liked to go up to Washington and caught some Tigers and Artic Grayling through the ice.
