New guy saying hi and could use a little help
#1
All, I signed in here a couple weeks ago and so far this seems like a very friendly and knowledgeable forum, so keep up the good work. After taking a few years off from fishing while pursuing other less important things like career, education and military duties, I finally got back to dangling lines in the water with some buddies a couple years back.

And I'm hooked all over again. I was fortunate enough to buy a 30 year old boat last summer- it's called Fish Slayer, and am having withdrawals since I had to put the cover on it for the winter.

I've never been an ice fisherman but yesterday I found out that I might have some more time to try it out this winter since as of 6 January, I'll be out of work. I've been working 10 years @ Hill as a support contractor and this is the first time I've had a contract downsized taking me and 2 others out of a job. Bummer timing, I can tell you that!

Anyway, I've been working as a Logistician and Program Manager and Data Analyst since retiring from the AF as an aircraft scheduler. I also have a BS in Logistics Management.

So the help I asking for is this: does anybody know of a job I can be applying for? Someone I should send a resume too? Thanks guys.

Wish I could help with some suggestions, but not my area of expertise. Been there and done that and wish you the best.

First of all I'd like to thank you for serving out country Nate. I'm not sure if you have found this site but here is a link to one that might help you find a job.

Good luck to you, hopefully you will find another job before your current job ends.

Have you checked with Northrup Gruman, Boeing, and Lockhead Martin ??? I know Northrup & Lockhead got some pretty big gov contracts going.

Yes, I do. And I knew about that website though I haven't looked at it recently. And to the other questioner, I've already worked for N-G for a few years and wasn't a great fit with that company.

I did apply tonight for a job that sounds like it was written exactly for me and was only posted on the Workforce Services job list today. It's with another contractor company on base and the job description sounds like they copied my resume. So I hope they call. Cross your fingers. That would make for a great Christmas present- to go right back to work.
