Burbot full of Carp minnows
#1
Fished the Confluence arm a couple nights last weekend. Most fish were caught in 5-12 ft on sucker meat using tip-ups or jigging. Was more or less pleased to see this thug was full of what looks like carp minnows, instead of crawfish or smallmouth. Many fish were packed with eggs. BTW, found that circle hooks worked decent on the tip-ups.

MountainmanZ, I have to give you a big thanks!!! First of all your video on youtube has really pointed me in the right direction for catching these burbot. I have been fishing since I can remember, (granted most of it was fly fishing) and in all that time I have never had a better lesson (than hands on). Secondly, thanks for showing everyone here what those *%*%# are eating so that we can get these pieces of *%#* out of the gorge. THANK YOU [Smile]

Wow, that is (was) one hungry fish. I'm headed up in the morning to go after some macks. I'm thinking I might stick around for some burb fishing.

5wtrod,
The vid was my pleasure! When it comes to fishing everyone has their secret hot spot or technique, but when it comes to burbot in the Gorge I believe there should be NO SECRETS!!! Share the information with everyone you know and never let those things rest for a minute [Wink] Good luck this season!
