I got out and fished Rockport again. Got there at about noon and fished till dark. Southeast end caught about 6 bows and 1 brown. Met a couple bftrs nice to meet you guys, I wish it was a little faster action but at least it seemed like not many people got skunked, it just not real fast. All fish were caught on the radical glow about a foot or so off the bottom. Tipped with wax worms. I think I am done for a few days at Rockport. Although the catching is not bad I just want to get into some bigger fish. NO COMPLAINTS THOUGH. Rockport has treated me well so far this year, I dont want to wear out my good luck. Good luck to all!![fishon]

It was nice to meet you as well. And thanks for the brewski. As you said, not a bad day, just a little slow. I think my wife and I managed 8 in about 4 hours. The only thing that would have made my day better is if she wouldn't have locked her keys in the truck. That was a little costly. Couldn't complain about the weather though, fished in a sweatshirt most of the day.

I heard someone mention your name yesterday, so you must have been where that dog fight broke out?[:/]
We did about the same as everyone else. We were marking a bunch of fish right on the bottom, they were not biting but I would bet they were perch. We did get a few light bites that we could not hook and were thinking they could have been perch. All the trout we caught were right off the bottom and were biting good. We were that group of three, east of you that left around 1pm.

Nice to hear you got a few. Too bad about the wind, but I guess that amazing weather just coudn't last all day. And don't worry about the dog, my little 10 month old "Drake", is just fine. See you on the hard deck soon I'm sure.

[cool]So, it sounds to me like the slimer fishing is pretty good there for 15 inch cookie cutter bows, but the perch fishing is still pretty much non-existent as in the past 4 years or so. There seems to be plenty of food - so much so for the perch - that they don't seem interested in jigs/waxies, etc... If anybody has had a different experience there with the perch this year please advise or send a p.m.
