Minnesota DNR hosts outdoor skills classes for women

The Minnesota DNR Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program is hosting their annual winter workshop February 26 - 28, 2010 at Audubon Environmental Learning Center in Sandstone. Classes offered include dog mushing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, quillwork, archery, ice fishing, and winter hikes..

Women sign up for three classes during the weekend. Lodging, meals, instruction, equipment and evening entertainment are all included in a low workshop fee.

"The winter workshop is very popular among women and provide women a unique opportunity to try out different winter sports in a supportive atmosphere," said Linda Bylander, BOW Coordinator.

Women can access the events on the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) web site atwww.mndnr.gov/education/bow or by calling the DNR Information Center at 1-888-646-6367 and request a printed copy of events.
