Sam had PMd me about going crappie fishing as he has been in withdrawal. I called him at noon and we met at 5pm at WT ramp. He was still in his teaching clothes. I had been out for an hour scouting and we decided to fish for the shallow fish and hope for the best. We started out on a dock back in the creek that had held fish Thurs. and Fri. and I had caught a couple in a few casts earlier but we didn't get many bites. Most of the fish were small too. Only one keeper. At 5:30 we decided to change gears and went to another spot in the creek. There were good fish there and we caught fish for the next hour. We ended up with 2 over 13 inches and quite a few over 12. It was too dark at about 6:30n and Sam's hands were getting cold and we quit. Sam took the fish home to eat and we weighed the trashbag that I had in the boat with the fish and they weighed 15lb and 9 ounces. What a great short trip. We were very well blessed for such a short trip. Thanks for being flexible and getting to the lake straight from work. Hopefully the warm up is on the way. Sam has some pics and will add them later.
