Went over to Goose Pond to fish ABA division 29 tournament and had best day ever on any lake that I have ever fished. I found an area Friday that held some fish so I backed out and returned first thing yesterdy morning. Within the first 10 minutes I hooked and landed my first fish of the day which was just shy of 7 lbs about 15 to 20 minutes later I hooked and landed an 8.10 which turned out to be the tournament big fish. After that I had to sit down for about two or three minutes and regain my composure and in the process decided that I would spend the rest of the day working this area. After catching and culling several keepers between 2 1/2 and 3 3/4 lbs I ended up getting another fish over 6 lbs and another just under 6 and the smallest fish was around 4.5 lbs. I ended the day with a 5 fish total weighing 30.45 lbs. I almost passed out at the weigh-in. The division 29 director Micheal Garlen said that this was the largest 5 fish bag ever weighed in for that division. Most of the fish were caught on an AZUMA Shaker Z lipless crank bait and some on an Excalibur. The AZUMA Shaker Z is one of the finest lipless baits that I have ever used and they should be getting in some of the stores around the Tri-state are very soon. Hopefully I will have a picture from the weigh-in to post tomorrow or Tuesday.
