[frown]I fished PV tues., wed., and thursday and the fishing was the worst I've experienced up there this year. I tried fishing different areas each day and drilling a lot of holes and threw everything at them but the kitchen sink, wow. The perch were all dinks except one nice 12" and a couple of 8 inchers and no crappie[mad], maybe just the moon phase or whatever but it isn't worth the trouble right now. Just wanted to pass this on to the rest of you folks that might be interested in the fishing at PV. However, up until this week it has fished real well for me this year, been getting alot of nice perch an crappies on a pretty consistent basis, the larger perch have been in 45 to 50 feet of water away from heavy pressured areas and the crappie are in the same except they are first light or last light biters. Hope it starts to pick-up again for all of us perchers. The ice conditions are great, no soft edges and the slush monster has settled considerably, looks like we still have a lot of time as long as it stays cold up there, temps have been in the single digits and lower teens this week. [shocked]Thanks for the reply toadly, I hoped that it wasn't something I was doing wrong. I hope we don't have to wait for the melt, I'm not ready to stop ice fishing yet, if there's one thing nice about hard water fishing it's the fact that I don't have to worry about yard work keeping me from fishing all the time. Keep it cold please!

That has been the story for me as well last couple times. I was up there Thursday morning as took home 5 perch and 2 crappie but I had to work for them. Almost constent jigging. Most fish would hit right after a series of light jigs then a quick stop.
Stepped in one of Perchounds drilled holes I think. It was barely covered with the morning snow. Went in up above the knee...lol. We fish the same areas and run into each other often so I am guessing it was from early morning or night before.
Spring crappie on the toon should be alot of fun but I hope it picks up for at lease one more good day on the ice. Best day this year was 18 crappie's 12 perch. One Crappie was just over 15 inches long a had some great meat on the slab. Tasty little critters those crappie and of course the perch as well.
