I didn't notice any time as being the best for the macs. I did notice that I wasn't able to hold on them in the wind, so would only really try when the lake was calm. I tried a bunch of different colors, but glow and blue/white slabs seemed to be the best. The glow one actually had most of the paint gone from banging them on the rocks, but still worked, so I don't think color was mattering much.
One thing I noticed was that there would be loner fish on the structure, but they were really negative. It seemed that if they were bunched up, they were hungry and would bite. Trust your electronics and find them before you fish.
I got the 2 28lbers and the 23 lber off the same spot which is that main point across from Lucerne Valley. I have the GPS spot marked so could give you coordinates if you like.
I also had good luck on the humps that are on the bend outside of Sheap Creek bay.
