ROCKPORT REPORT?
#1
Hello out there I'm looking to go to Rockport tomorrow and was wondering what the conditions where like. How are the edges of the lake, slush, and thickness of the ice. The last few trips out in the fishing world hasn't produced much so I could use some help. Not that I need to catch fish everytime I go out but it would be nice to bring home a limit of something. Any ideas will help thanks.[:/]

Went to Rockport today. Fished 5 1/2 hours. One fish on (a trout, I'm sure but lost him on the way up. Not another bite. Others in the same area had the same results.

I was near the back end (away from the dam) Tried about 15 holes form 15 feet to 55 feet. Only marked one fish (the one I lost).

As I was leaving I saw some guys near the dam who appeared to have a couple on ice.

The worse day I have every had at Rockport. But still good to be on the ice.

Well got back from a good day at Rock Port. Fished off the boat ramp the water was about 44 ft deep, marked fish from 15' to 38'. Managed to catch 10 trout keeped the bigger ones, four that is. All in all a great day for me[Image: happy.gif]. Pulled into the marina around 8am the edes were good easy walking on the snow the sled pulled fine. Drilled three holes, two to fish from one for the fish finder set the hut up and started to catch fish. Brown garden hackels did the trick.[ Those are night crawlers.] Was done at 12:30. Was a good day. Fish for dinner tonight![laugh]
