Unusual sign of spring

No robin , no thunderstorm , not even the grey herons .
My first sign of spring even though it snowed off and on today , a (just about 300 lbs.) Black bear walking threw a field this afternoon .

Yeah.. it must be getting close. Grandpa cleaned out the sugar shanny last weekend and got the buckets ready for some tree tappin.

Thinking next weekend will be the start.

My youngest kid started tapping trees last night , it's running pretty good !

Just like years past there is no snow just a mile from my place , I have a good 10" all over the yard .
I'm living in the snow belt !
