Faith and I decided to head to the Nick today to do a little prefishing for the CFF on Saturday. We put in at MCP and ran to our first stop which was a point that lead to deep water. Fished the area pretty thoroughly will no luck at all. Threw several different baits including traps, jigs, jerks, and cranks. Motored over to another similar spot that Faith had some luck on last weekend, and again we got skunked. Couldn't find anything at all. Couldn't even mark anything on the graph. So we cranked up and made a run to where I had some luck last weekend and right off the bat I caught a nice keeper in the 3 lb range. Continued in this area and Faith hooks up with a nice fish. Get it to the boat and notice it is BARELY hooked, so I get the net under real quick and pull it in the boat. We weighed it real quick and it read 5.6 on my handhelds. Beautiful healthy fish with a nice little gut on it. Didn't want to hammer this area too hard since I knew the fish were holding there like they were last weekend. So we fished a little more in the same general area then decided we would head back to the park and load up.

The lake was very windy today and made holding the boat in one spot a chore to say the least. Water temps were 46 when we put in and cooled down to 43-44 by the time we took out.

Total fish caught - 2
Total weight - approx 8.5
Biggest - 5.6
Lures Thrown - traps, jerks, jigs, and cranks

http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn56/dirtymax58/ThuMar04161326AmericaChicago2010.jpg

http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn56/dirtymax58/ThuMar04163118AmericaChicago2010.jpg
