Love this forum, a friend of mine got me hooked. Yesterday fished the Blacksmith w/ my boys. No luck cold day and the fish didn't seem real active. Great day anyhow, funny story had a hit on a number 16 pheaseant tail, missed him but my 9 year old informed me that I was a better fisherman than Roland Martin. Couldnt be prouder. Sorry Roland your history. Any ideas on early hatches we are a little new at this flyfishing thing but my boys love it so much they decided they would rather fish than play baseball this summer. A wish come true. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

There were some midges coming off on Tuesday. You may find some little winter stones this time of year as well. On a warm day around mid April last year some mayflies and small stones were coming off.
