The Web. 3/6- Can't complain but whities?
#1
Went yesterday, w/o Sparky (still on the mend) for about 4 hours and caught a 20 in. brown, 19 in rainbow, 17 1/2 in rainbow and about 5-6 smaller guys. Wanted to catch some whities to bring home to eat but couldn't catch a one. [Image: icon_sad.gif] Had to keep a couple of trout. [Image: icon_sad.gif] The river is full of these guys but couldn't get one to bite??? Used my normal stuff, prince along with a caddis pupa fly tipped with a wax worm bouncing on the bottom and nothing. Always was able to catch just as many whities as trout, if not more, but the last 3 times I have been able to just catch a few??? Guess maybe they sense I'll keep em and let all the trout go?

Try the Blacksmith Fork, I caught 5 good sized ones there last week. They were in surprisingly swift and shallow water.

I've noticed this also, those whities sure do keep things interesting and any day catching a whities is better than getting skunked But at the same time maybe it will give those browns & bows more room to grow....
