Skunked @ Fish Lake!

I was excited to hit FL with my Dad who is in from out of town. But when we got to the FL turnoff (last 7 miles) we found the road closed. Big snow drifts I guess. I was told it should be open tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday).

Drove down to Mill Meadow and slayed the perch. 3 browns were caught as well. I'm glad we were able to get some fishing in! Checked out Otter Creek for kicks and found some soft (understatement) edges and didn't venture out (or see anyone else out there). That's about what we were expecting...

Anxious to get back down when the road to Fish Lake is actually open. Duh...shoulda checked before we left. Argh! What a shame because it was a gorgeous day. =(

That is too bad you could not get there. Saturday was quite nice untill just after noon. Then the storm pushed us out.

I didn't think it was possible for you to get skunked up there, but I suppose that would do it. Hope your dad had a good time while here.

I understand that the road is still closed -- nobody in or out. Hmmmm......trapped at Fish Lake with no way to get out? I can certainly think of worse places to be stranded!!

At least it is nice to hear that there is some snow around Fish Lake. I remember a couple years ago that I went down there this time and year and there was just a little snow in the shade high up on the mountains.
