BIG GAME DRAWS
#1
Cards are starting to get hit for the hunts, my buddy just called and said his was hit for a LE any weapon elk hunt on the Wasatch unit. He is pumped, he lives in the unit near Fruitland and sees plenty of big bulls through out the year.

I got a hit for $280. Looks like my wife drew a Cache South Late Rifle (Elk) with 2 points; unbelievable.

Our luck has been very so far this year. We have drawn 2 tags with 3-4% draw odds.

Just checked what I put in for and it is either a LE Bull any weapon Wasatch Mountains early (Sep 18-26) or CWMU Any Bull Elk--Deseret.... 5 or 6 points

Deer is either Blackpowder central buck or Rifle buck central...

What was your first choice?
You would have drawn your #1 choice unless there were left over tags for your second choice. I'm pretty sure DLL and Wasatch don't have left over tags [cool]
Congrats!

If it is then I can hunt the same area I go for Spike and I run into herd bulls on a daily basis there. I saw one that was over 400". Lots of 6x6's. Last year I was watching a almost totally white horned 6x6, he was in a wallow and I got to watch him for over an hour.... I have a great spot for big bulls... wow I am excited..... omg

Sounds like you already got it figured out. That's good, most people have to start from scratch. Make sure you take tons of pics and keep us updated.

I am sure you know where to send him to look, if not let me know and I have many spots where I go... I will probably be hunting alone also... I am trying to talk my 70 yr. old dad into coming out and he can ride the atv scouting all day while I am hunting.

We bow hunt that unit every year so I know several good areas. I drew the premium tag for that area in 2006 and had a great time, hunted by my self for 2 1/2 weeks saw lots of bulls I figured at least several hundred, actually passed on better bulls than the one I took in the Nov. hunt. My dad who will be 83 in July will also be comming out to join us on the archery hunt this fall, he took a cow the 2nd eve. last year from one of my blinds. Four generations hunting together last year, had a great time. Good luck on your hunt, hope your dad can join you. Family & friends that's what it is all about.[cool]

Pack:

Thanks for the nice words!

It will be her first elk hunt and I am really looking forward to it. I have killed a few bulls and I am more excited that she has the tag than if I would have drawn it.

I hunted the same unit on the Muzz hunt a few years back. Its a great unit and I am going to get out and do a lot of scouting. I will definately keep you posted!!

Good luck to your son as well..

Is it Paul that drew the tag?
