Having moved from CA to UT only five years ago, I get a little edgy with regard to the subject of selling firearms...

I'm wondering if anybody knows if it is legal for me to privately transfer a long arm (shotgun or rifle) to an Idaho or Arizona resident without going through an FFL?[/#0000ff]

I guess I'm unclear as to whether it is legal for me to transfer a firearm (in this case a long arm) to an out-of-state resident without going through an FFL dealer. I know the federal law is clear and specifically prohibits handgun sales to those outside your state of residency without an FFL transfer.
I've been doing some research and am beginning to think that it is lawful for such a long arm transfer between UT and ID residents as long you are able to legally possess a firearm.
Penny for your thoughts???

i would guess it would be ok. as long as you dont send it UPS or post office to they guys house. if he came to you or you came to him or you met some where iam sure it would be okay. you could always go to a police station in either state and ask them how to go about it.
