I've been trying some of the newer lines out their and they all have their ups and downs. I've junked stren all together and trilene is okay but it floats to much so the line drifts all over. Vanish, I like but is limited in what you can really use it for. I haven't tried most of the brands because the local stores just don't carry it. My fishing buddy uses the cheapest stuff and it seems to work better then most of my expensive lines. I would use the cheap stuff but I can't seem to bring myself to buying it. I think most of what you pay for is the cost of advertising rather then a good line.
I'd say anything that doesn't break holds good knots and catches fish is the stuff to use. After that what kind doesn't matter.
