We had some great friends over for dinner last night and they wanted to see if we could get a fish on the line and so we went out to see. I had fished for an hour at noon and had found some big, 1.5 to 3lb white bass stacked in deep water and got a bunch vertically jigging with BG shads and so I thought that we would try for them. They didn't cooperate for the first few minutes and I was worried but Cameron got a fish on after about 10 minutes and a second later I hooked up with a big striper. My digital scale said that it was almost 18 lbs but it looked and felt a lot bigger than that. on 6 lb test and an ultralight crappie rod she was a good fight. I thought it was a big flathead initially but when it made some long runs screaming the drag I figured it might be a striper. We ended up catching a bunch more whites, a largemouth and a channel cat. We fished for just over an hour and we had a great time. Here are some pics.
