Willow Beach Trout Trip

Hit the Beach with the Whizzle Family a few days ago (the Whizzle Fam is growing! Got a bun in the oven here...).

We started the day trolling big trout plugs around, but 5 year old kids think trolling is "BoRiNg!" so we hit the beach for some spin fishing.

The first fish of the day was landed by my daughter, and I told her that you have to kiss the first fish of the day. She was reluctant, but the Jimmy Houston in her came out-

I was next up to bat-

Then my oh-so-pregnant wife -

We continued to catch fish pretty much non stop for a while. It was really a wide open bite for us. I got a fish on just about every cast for an hour or more, and my daughter was doing her share of catching too.

And they were all very athletic, hard-fighting fish. Every single fish we caught went airborne during the fight.

I lost count, but we easily landed 25 or more trout, and lost quite a few that came unbuttoned during the fight.
I kept 8 for the table and they were delicious.



I've got my daughter and wife hooked on fishing- Now I get to work on the new addition! (lets hope for a boy!)

those are some pretty good sized trout too, must have escaped the stripers all spring at least. congrats bout the new kid coming too.

Nice report. I'd like to get down to Willow sometime. Nice Jimmy Houston reference, lol. I like to sing the Bill Dance theme when fishing is slow. Way to incorporate the family in the best pastime ever.
