my boy Jonny just finished hunters safty and has taken a new intrest in outdoor sports.. so he wanted me to take him camping up at E-lake so we could do some fishing and potgut hunting.. how can i turn down a camping trip to one of my favrite places to go? lol
so we packed up the camper and boat on friday and headed on up.. got there and got the boat in and camp set up and out we went to fish.. started out trolling we did ok on small tigers and only 1 cutt.. but the wind came up and made trolling hard so we headed to the bubble up and did some jigging.. i caught 3 cutt's jonny got a skunk.. darn, he is still in the first stages of getting the hang of jigging.. he will get the hang of it soon i think tho..
well the wind got bad and looked like rain so we packed it in and headed back to camp.. and called it a night..
next morrning we got up headed out and pulled the minnow traps in.. baged up the bigger one's took the smaller ones out with us on the boat.. i started out with a small pop gear i made up before we left the house.. i could not keep the fish from hitting it but i could not hook them ether.. they would tear the minnow apart but not get the hook in them.. it was fun to play with tho.. jonny was useing a dodger and minnow rig but was not get too meny hits on it.. so he put on a neadlefish and started wipping his old man's bunn's all over the lake.. lol
we cought a bunch of small cutt's and tiger's tell the wind came up again.. i was useing my E-trolling motor to help stear the boat in the wind but when the battrey went dead i could not keep the boat from spining in the wind that would blow from every driction at any given time.. [mad].. so we headed in got some lunch and grabed the gun's headed back out to do some potgut huntting.. we hunted for about 3 hours and made it back to the boat. desided to go try some jigging again.. this time i got the skunk and jonny got 2 small cutt's but he was not jigging he was just casting a spin-a-lure around the boat.. lol we called it a night and headed in..
next day sunday we got up to a cold north wind right from the get go.. we pulled the full minnow traps in baged up the bigger minnows put them in the freezer. keep about 20 in the buckit and headed out again.. this time i put a neadlefish on one pole and a zipfish on the other.. and jonny still was spanking me.. but at lest i was put some in the boat too.. we caught a bunch of fish tho.. we were hitting a fish about every 10 to 15 min's well around 11:30 we trolled back to camp as we were just about there i hit a surprize albino bow! that's a first for me at E-lake.. i know they came down from bolgers and it was not very big, but kind-a cool anyway.. after that we headed to camp got the gun's and minnow traps..(i stoped putting them out around camp becouse every butt-hole that came down need to pull them in to see what was in them!!) i was getting to the point that i was going to shoot the next guy that did that.. so i just stoped putting them out and taking them down the lake and putting them in where they would be safe for the butt-holes!! we got to the potgut hunnting area and put the traps out and did some huntting.. well about 5:00 we headed back to the boat becouse i talked to the DNR guy that morning and asked him how late he was going to be there he said he would be there tell 7:00 and i wanted to get my boat washed before headed home.. well we got back to camp at 5:30 and ya guess it the A-hole was gone!! [mad][mad] so now the next trip i have to make is back to E-lake just to get my boat washed or wait 18 day's befor going some where else!! all i can say is it's stuff like that, that is going to spred the mussales around to the other lakes!!!
i got 2 other boats but i like the big boat better and it's the one i use most! oh well i'll deal with it i guess..
all in all it was a good trip and we cought some good fish and had a ball..
