Catfishing around Boise

Hey, looking for some catfishing spots around Boise. Been down to Swan Falls but not hitting to much. Any suggestions?

Never been there but i think I might head up there Thursday morning and camp Thursday night and fish Friday.

Go early Thursday, that campground will fill up early this weekend. Pick some of those crickets up on the way in.

Nyssa Bridge.
Wildlife Management area in Parma (Where the Boise River enters the Snake).
Lake Lowell, where the canal dumps in.

Slight correction to the prior post the WMA where the Boise dumps into the Smake river is at Parma not Marsing....

walters ferry downstream to map rock road is all ways good for a cat or two . never got into any lunkers mainly 2-5 pounders . quite a few " fiddler " cats 14-15 inch. good fishing

Yeah, I think that's what they we're talking about Ron. I know some kids that catch a lot of cats there.

a cousin of mine has been catching 3-4 pound cats of at all places..............park center pond. this got me curious i called the fish and game and was told to check the stocking reports on thier website. very interesting. they have been stocking a few thousand a year in the local ponds. they have been doing this for a few years now so their should be some nice cats here in town. does anyone no where the esther simplot pond is ? they have really been stocking this with cats.......

Ron, I believe it would be a long row from the nearest access to where the NY Canal enters Lake Lowell. You could drop your pontoon off the bridge on Lake Shore Drive, but you'd still have a long way back upstream.

man below swan accros the river is where i go i am goin to go down there monday nite . come on down. easy to spot me listen fer the hank jr. an look fer the beer cans baybe !!! how oooow bring shrimp. and beer. i make a nice stink bait to marinade those shrimps. i use olive oil, garic, crappie eggs, and a can of sardines . blend it in a food proceser and watch out ! like dynamite few momma cat yesssss
