Lake Powell
#1
Went to Lake Powell for a few days. The striper fishing was really picking up. We could find boils/slurps everywhere we looked. They were not very big boils and if you were not fast on the cast then you missed em. They were very skittish. Anything blue/silver caught the most and nothing too big. I was trying my favorite zera spook and had no luck on top.
We were also hooking smallies on grubs in pretty much any rock pile.
We were down from Bullfrog to the Rincon.
We also caught a few by graphing schools and dropping chovies.

I was at Powell a couple of weeks ago; went out of Bullfrog north to mm 100 to 105. Caught a 6 lb striper on a 20 to 200 ft drop off using a silver Bill Lewis. But the surprise came when I hooked an 8 lb to 10 lb Large mouth on that same Bill Lewis in the shallows. I thought it was a carp at first but to my surprise to see no bugle lips on that "bad boy". Being it was so hot, by myself and I was not planning on keeping it, decided to shake it off at the side of the boat. Probably the largest largemouth I've ever hooked.
