bluegill at hosehoe bend lake

hi guys it's evelynn......i just got back from the lake i caught 6 bluegill one was 5 ". my boyfriend says that is preety good for a first time fishergirl. he must have caught about a hundred. i need more practice i guess. i did have a really big green fish with a black stripe bite my bobber and i tried to reel him in but before i could reel him in the bobber fell out of his mouth. he was jumping and wagging his tail it was cool !!! i wanted to fish for them but bradley said i don't have the skills for trout yet. i kind of felt bored though. anyhow thanks for the tips guys . i couldn't do the worm thing yet. i used salmon eggs. bradly used worms though and caught tons. have a good fourth bye bye

yer boyfriend seems like a jerk. didn't he offer any help ? and he don't know fishin that much you hooked a bass not a trout. trout aint green unless you forget to takeum out of the cooler.maybe you should go wit one of yer girlfriends insted. an you was sayin you was bored. i drink beer when it gets slow......an when i can affords it i like even williams bourbon. and hon you do have skills for trout anybody does.

I agree it defintly sound like a bass that got your bober. I do belive Idaho has a 2 pole permit now available. So next time if you want to fish for trout as well as bluegills get the permit and bring a second pole. Set one up for trout, from the hook up your line put a small split shot sinker about 18 inches up. above that put a small egg sinker.This type of setup works well with power bait (dough type substace you mold over your hook) They also sell little bells with clamps on them that fit on the tip of your pole so while your fishing for bluegills with your other pole you can here if a fish bites the pole setup for trout. Trout fishing is usually a lot slower (not as many bites). Good luck and thanks for posting.
