fishing willard from bank
#1
took my little boy this evening to fish Willard from the bank. We fished the north marina and off the rocks just on the other side of the marina. Did not see any one catch a fish. Was going to try again tomorrow night. Does any one have a better spot. What about the north dike? Or the tree line area just south of the beaches by the north marina?

I have no personal expereience fishing from the bank at Willard, but while fishing from my boat this morning I saw a guy catch a wiper off the north dike. Earlier in the year I witnessed guys doing quite well from the same location. From what I've seen you don't need to hike out very far at all

Early in may i was slaying from the north marina along the east shore. I was just throwing a jig under a bobber.

I highly recommend a two rod permit fishing from the shore there. One rod rigged with some type of meat, I like a good chunk chub meat casted out weightless (wind permiting). Then the other rod like mentioned above some type of jig ( I like White of Pink) couple of feet down from a bobber. As for location no where in particular, I like to go anywhere there are no people. Usually the far west dike.
Good Luck

[font "Courier New"][#0000bf][size 3]Well, I don't remember fishing from bank in July (I always try to stow away on somebody's boat, as often as I can!)
But in late April through early June, fishing is decent in the north marina. Around sunset, I hooked (but lost) something that fought good just a few yards away from to boat ramp, one time. It was very windy with choppy water, so I have no idea what fish it was. Crappie fishing is good in the morning in the north-east corner, of the north marina/Pelican bay in spring.
