I fished Matt Warner with my son-in-law and my 5 year old grandson July 3-5. Except for the wind it was a great fishing/camping trip. The fish didn't seem to want my flies very bad. But I was able to catch 2 on flies. However, they did want to play with a trolled flatfish, especially the one on the end of the grandsons Scooby pole. He was really showing us how it is done. The fish were either 12-13" or 16-17" rainbows. I caught around 40 and the other two about the same. But I spent a lot more time on the water than they did.

Thanks for posting your report Neldon. We don't get many reports from Matt Warner. Sounds like he catching was good but the size is down from years past. We use to do good with flies behind a bubble what types were you using?

I was hoping to see you caught some brookies out of there. Did you fish either of the other two lakes up that way?

I tried a renegade and my favorite brown leach and caught one on each. I used to catch a lot of fish with flies and bubble there. But the last couple of times it has been very dissapointing.

We kept talking about trying Calder but didn't get around to it. If I had been the driver I would have just hooked on to my boat and went. But since the son-in-law pulled the boat out there, well?
