I'm trying to understand the system and how it works. Will I be safe planning a trip to ellis next week or could it be closed by then?

Who knows with the shell game they play these days. Since they don't tell us how many fish we get anymore they can pull the plug anytime they want. There a few guys on here that watch this stuff real close and they may chime in with a better understanding of the system with some real numbers.

I would call the IDF&G main office in Boise and ask for an anadromous fisheries biologist. They should be able to explain everything to you and also tell you what the numbers are and how far from the plug being pulled we are.
