Went up to the Nell to fish till about noon or so...
The water temp was 68 when I launched at 5;45 or so the bass hit a top water two times then wanted other things..
By 9:00 the water temp was up to 72 and still climbing, the bass was still wanting to play, you would find that they were schooling in sizes from 10" to 12" and then a few bigger ones would move in or be just down the bank....The biggest was just over 19" and smallest at maybe 4", they hit on a number of things at different times...

Do you find more bass at the north end of the lake around the edges? I have not fished for bass at the nell and was wondering where the best part of the lake would be if I took my boys.

The lake is dropping so fast that I have to find new spots each time I go...
But if you have a boat the rock cliff arm holds a lot of bass and browns...

The Rock Cliff Arm is the arm that heads to the east. There is a state park there also. If you saw a river that enters Jordanelle you were at the Rock Cliff Arm.

[cool][#0000ff]Here is a generalized map that might help.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]If you plan to fish it much you should get one of those blue and white Fish N Maps. Check Sportsmans and other outdoor outlets.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Yes. It is also part of the Jordanelle State Park. There is a booth and gate at the entrance but is not always staffed. If you do not have a pass you will have to put your money in an envelope and stuff it into the "iron ranger". Not sure what the daily rate is these days. I get the annual pass and definitely get my money's worth.[/#0000ff]

From stateparks.utah.gov

Day Visits:
Hailstone - $10 per vehicle (up to 8 passengers)
Rock Cliff - $7 per vehicle
Signs at Rock Cliff say 'Small Boat Ramp', but I've never seen a definition for small.
There is no dock so I guess small means you can get in the boat from shore at your own risk?

Hey Bassrods,
What kind of boat are you in? I am sure I have seen you on the water and maybe fish close to ya.

a 50K boat - yeah, that probably counts as a small watercraft.... sure they only go wakeless speeds too.
Oh that's right - the binocs were for looking for Birds, not Chicks!
All MY luck - I'd get caught accidentally checking out some burly dudes 13 yr old - with the the bod of a 17yr old in Bikini garb - then he'd come blast by and swamp my little tug-boat just to show me!
My 9yr old daughter was with me at Mantua, and some boat spins by with a gal standing up showing her all. My daughter gasped - "daddy - she's got her thingy's out!"
Kinda surprised - might expect that at Powell, just not so much at Mantua! Ah - takes all kinds!

Who cares if ya get caught oogling if you aren't in the work place and can't be punished for acting like a male when noticing what the women are showing off? If they get offended about such things they should put some clothes on. Personally, I would rather they just didn't get offended.[angelic] Women do have a point though if they contend that we go around bearing our poles all the time and they don't oogle at us.[laugh]
