Thinking about going camping up to Island Park Reservoir. Hows the fishing been. What do you use? Also does anyone know of any good spots to camp. The girls would prefer that theres a bathroom close by and Id prefer somewhere without a million people and somewhere where the fishings good. But anyways any information would be helpfull. Thanks.

Haven't heard much about the fishing up there. i really am not an expert but did take the kids camping last year at the coffee pot campground close to Island park and they really had a good time.

I like west end. There are some outhouses back there. You can fish off of the fingers (look at a map), where you can fly fish from a tube or pontoon. You can also baitfish off of the shore but I would recommend using a tube or canoe to run your worm/marshmellow combo out into deeper water and then go back to the bank and wait. This method ususally works good for me in the Fall but should work in the morning and evening when the water temps are lower.

I was talking to my father this Monday who was up in Island Park for the weekend and he mentioned he had talked to some serious fishermen. A few of them had been up there for the whole past week and tried fishing Henry's and IP Reservoir and said fishing on both was very poor, regardless of the different methods they tried. My dad didn't even bother taking out his boat because of what they told him.
Hopefully things pick up by the time you head up.

I had similar experience at Island Park. A week ago, the fishing was not great.
