my sister is coming to visit from Arizona to go fishing with me at Mantua. We want to try and catch every type of fish in the lake. I think I am OK on getting all of them except for the trout. I can get them through the ice no problem, but where do I go and what do I use for this hot time of year. I know they are there.

If you have a boat, fish for the trout the same way you do through the ice.
Vertical jigging works great for almost everything that swims in Mantua.
Tip the jig with a snippet of crawler or a wax worm.

I always have good success using a gold blue fox spinner (#2) - no fancy stuff on it. They love it. I have fished mostly the southeast end from the far east shore all the way back out past where the creek comes in. But they are all over in there. Good luck.

Try out from inlet(se corner) with a green or olive rooster tail or damsel fly behind a bubble(filled with water and fished subsurface). It's always been harder to find trout for me though as it gets later in the summer. Hope you get into them!
