[:/]I need some help once again from my fellow Anglers. I would like to stock up on a few chubs for ice fishing this winter. I was curious if any Anglers out there have any proven methods for catching a few of these little rascals and perhaps a good local at Strawberry or Soldier Creek. I have heard that a worm can work or a silver spinner. Any help from you fine folks would sure be appreciated. Thank you in advance for you help.

Last time up we caught a bunch on small jigs tipped with worms back in the narrows between the two sides. Lots of crawdads as well.

If your looking for lots of chubs without much effort then go to settlement res. in Tooele and use a bait trap, or take a few kids and fish worms with small hooks they will have a blast and you will get the chub supply your looking for! there is no short supply of bait sized chubs in there i promise you that!

I went there in March of this year certain that I could trap a bunch of chubs easily. I was unpleasantly surprised when I didn't get a single chub in either of my two minnow traps or on my fishing rod. I had ice fished it before and it was non-stop action for chubs.

+1 on settlement and +1 on what Knet wrote as well. There are a ton of them in there, but I would suggest first throwing a small jig and worm to find out where they are, then use the traps. They were deep a few months ago, but a tandum jog rig got 2 per cast that were fine bait size. Small hook tipped with crawler and fish right on the bottom, they will hit it in a few seconds if they are there, i not, move a few feet and cast again.
Good luck,
