The fishing around around Vatulele and cakau lekaleka has been outstanding this july. Wahoo are teaming with up to 15 strikes per day and fish are averaging 40 lbs. Plenty of mahi mahi as well. Most of the mahi have been around the 15 to 20 lb. mark. Sail fish and marlin have been very slow this season but in other parts of Fiji have been solid. August is here and marks the peak of the wahoo bite. This is the time of year when 5 fish on at once is common place as well as 100 lb. fish available. So if you want to experience some of the best wahoo fishing on the planet come to Fiji in Aug.
